Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are continuing to spend time apart from each other—even throughout this past Fourth of July weekend—amid ongoing rumors of marital tension.

In fact, the couple celebrated the national holiday on opposite sides of the country, sources recently confirmed to People. 

Lopez spent time with “family and friends” at the Hamptons, a luxe New York coastal destination that the singer “always enjoys,” an insider said. They added, “She seems fine.”

Meanwhile, another source said Affleck stayed in Los Angeles, visiting his office and hanging out with his three children—Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Sam, 12—whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Over the past few days, Lopez has been sighted enjoying her time in the Hamptons by going on a shopping spree and biking with friends.

She even posted photos of her summer getaway to Instagram, in which she posed in a Ralph Lauren ensemble in front of a field of lavender. Meanwhile, Affleck was most recently seen out for lunch at L.A.’s Baltaire restaurant. Both Lopez and Affleck are still wearing their wedding rings in pictures.

Rumors of marital issues have plagued the couple since May.

That month, an insider told Entertainment Tonight that Lopez and Affleck “are continuing to take space from each other.”

“They’ve been having issues for a few months and trying to figure things out on their own,” the source said. “Jen has been having a hard time dealing with the general stress of life as well as in her career. She has been experiencing ups and downs while processing everything. She has been throwing herself into work, which has always been an outlet for her to stay busy and distracted.”
