Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne have had to put a big life change on hold.
On the July 16 episode of their family podcast, โThe Osbournes,โ the couple revealed that Ozzyโs declining health has delayed their plans to move back to England.
โWell, weโre trying to get on a flight,โ said Ozzy, 75.
โYeah, it just seems that every time weโre set to go, something happens with Ozzyโs health,โ added Sharon, 71.
The Black Sabbath rocker has Parkinsonโs disease, which has taken a major toll on his well-being. He also underwent four surgeries on his spine following a bad fall in 2019.
โWeโll get there,โ Sharon said about returning to the UK for good. โWe want to go back so bad, but weโll get there. Wonโt we, Ozzy?โ
โYeah,โ her husband replied.
โWe will,โ Sharon said.
Ozzy revealed his plans to move back to his native country in an interview with the Guardian in August 2022.
He said โeverythingโs f โ โ king ridiculousโ in America, adding, โIโm fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. Itโs f โ โ king crazy.โ
โAnd I donโt want to die in America. I donโt want to be buried in f โ โ king Forest Lawn,โ Ozzy added. โIโm English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said weโve got to go and live in Timbuktu, Iโll go. But, no, itโs just time for me to come home.โ
Sharon said in an interview with ABC News in September 2022 that she would also like to move back to England.
โI just feel at this point in my life, I canโt speak for Ozzy, but I wanna go home,โ she said. โAnd it doesnโt mean Iโll never come โ my children are here. I need to be back where I came from.โ
Sharon and Ozzy have three children, Aimee, 40, Kelly, 39, and Jack, 38, who all live in America.
Ozzy has two older kids, Jessica, 52, and Louis, 49, with his ex, Thelma Riley.
The โCrazy Trainโ singer was diagnosed with Parkinsonโs in 2003 but waited to go public with his diagnosis until January 2020.
He told Rolling Stone UK in November 2023 that he thinks he has โ10 years leftโ to live โat best.โ
Ozzy also said at the time that a recent back surgery left him โpractically crippled.โ He revealed that a โsecond surgery went drastically wrong.โ
In an interview with Daily Mail last year, Sharon said itโs โheartbreakingโ to see Ozzy struggle to be โself-sufficientโ amid his health issues.
โWeโre at a stage where Iโve been taking care of my husband, not because I have to but because I want to and I love him,โ she explained. โHeโs had seven operations in five years. Thereโs nothing more they can do. Now itโs about recuperating.โ
Since his surgeries, Ozzy has had to rely on the help of a cane and a wheelchair to get around.
