Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that the Princess Royal, 73, has suffered minor injuries and a concussion.
King Charlesโ sister sustained minor wounds to the head while walking the Gatcombe Park estate on Sunday (June 23) evening, according to reports.
On Tuesday (June 25), her husband Sir Tim Laurence shared an update on Anne as he visited her in hospital.ย
He revealed she was โrecovering wellโ.
On Friday (June 28), it was confirmed that Anne is out of hospital and will continue her recovery.
Princess Anne leaves hospital
According to reports, the Princess Royal is back home at Gatcombe Park. Sheโll stay there for rest and wonโt return to duties until her medical team has given the go ahead.
Her husband Sir Tim said in a statement: โI would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise and kindness during my wifeโs short stay.โ
It comes after Anneโs husband said she was โrecovering wellโ on Tuesday.
He told reporters after leaving hospital: โShe is recovering well, thank you. Sheโs doing fine. Slow, but sure.
โWe are both profoundly grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care โ and to the emergency services who were all so wonderful at the scene.
โWe are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal.โ
He added that he had brought Anne a โfew little treats from homeโ.
It was reported that Princess Anneโs head injuries were consistent with the potential impact from a horseโs head or legs.
Anne was reportedly treated by ambulance workers before she was transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
Reports claim she was hospitalised for appropriate tests, treatment and observation. She was said to remain in hospital as a precautionary measure, and is expected to make a full recovery.
An experience rider, she was the first member of the royal family to competed in the Olympics when she rode her late mother the Queenโs horse Goodwill in the equestrian three-day event at the 1976 Montreal games.
Royal family news
Her husband Sir Timothy, and her children Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, were also at Gatcombe at the time. Sir Timothy accompanied his wife to hospital.
The King, Queen, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew and Prince William were said to be notified about the incident last night.
The King has been kept closely informed.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement: โThe King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to the Princess for a speedy recovery.โ
How long until Princess Anne is better?
Anne had been due to fly to Canada at the end of the week as part of an official tour.
But that trip has now been postponed, on doctorsโ advice.
She also missed a state banquet on Tuesday, held in honour of the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
A Palace spokesman said: โThe Japanese state visit will go ahead as planned, though sadly Her Royal Highness will be unable to attend the state banquet tomorrow.โ
