Although the fireworks have faded away, Katy Perry is still feeling patriotic as she prepares to grace fans with her new album.
The Grammy Award nominee, 39, channeled Rosie the Riveter as she served a sexy star-spangled look in the music video for her new single Woman’s World on Thursday.
She donned a cute denim ensemble with her hair wrapped in a red bandanna as she sat on a suspended beam with her gals.
After taking a swig of whiskey, Perry and her crew stood at a row of urinals, which lifted away before they danced around a shipyard.
Perry stripped away the look to reveal a bedazzled red, white and blue strappy bikini that put her bod on display.
As she parodied some spon-con with sex toys and jade rollers, a giant anvil came crashing down on top of her.
Perry then woke up in the middle of a street, completely flattened before inflating herself back up.
She then strutted around the war-torn dystopian streets, sporting a white knit bikini with robot legs.
After filling up at a gas station, Perry joined Trisha Paytas for a post-apocalyptic road trip in a monster truck.
‘Woman’s World’ is the lead single from Perry’s upcoming seventh studio album 143 (a colloquialism for ‘I love you’), dropping September 20.
On Wednesday, Perry announced the album title and release date, in addition to sharing some out-of-this-world cover art.
‘I set out to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message,’ said Perry in a statement.
The Teenage Dream artist previously announced her exit from American Idol after seven seasons ahead of a ‘very exciting year.’
‘I think this probably will be my last show, my last season for Idol,’ she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live at the time. ‘I mean, I love Idol so much.
‘It’s connected me with, like, the heart of America, but I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse,’ added Perry.
She’s since been working on her new album, which is said to be the ‘biggest musical comeback since Mariah Carey with The Emancipation of Mimi.’
After releasing her sixth studio album Smile in 2020, Perry sold her entire music catalog for $225 million in September.
Meanwhile, Perry fans have made ‘#JUSTICEFORKATYPERRY’ trend and pushed her previous work up the charts after a music critic admitted to unfairly trashing her.
