ย The new Bridget Jones sequel is reportedly driving celebrities mad with its filming schedule in London.
Renee Zellweger is back in action as her famous character in the latest film in the franchise Mad About The Boy.
But stars including Harry Styles and Rami Malek who live near the North London streets where filming is taking place on are not too happy with the production.
According to The Sun, film bosses have put letters through the doors of local residents asking them to only come and go at certain times to not interfere with filming.ย
A source said: โThe film is causing chaos in this part of North London where they are shooting a lot of the film.
โNeighbourhoods with stars such as Harry, Rami, Ricky Gervais and Rowan Atkinson, living there are all getting letters from the production about not interrupting shots.โ
The letters reportedly ask residents to either leave their homes during filming or not to come and go while the cameras are rolling.
The insider added: โItโs like theyโre being held hostage by Bridget โ and itโs driving everyone mad.โย ย
The movie is based on the novel of the same name as Bridget battles motherhood alone following the tragic death of Mark, who was played in the previous films by Colin Firth, 63.ย
She will also embark on a love affair with a much younger man named Rockstar, played by One Day star Leo Woodall, 27.
In the new film, Bridget enjoys a fling with Rockstar and PE teacher Mr Walker, as played by 12 Years A Slave actor Chiwetel Ejiofor as well as reviving her on-off relationship with Hugh Grantโs Daniel Cleaver.
Chiwetel, 46, was seen shooting scenes last week which means only Hugh and Colin Firth โ who has a small role in the movie as the late Mark Darcy โ are yet to be spotted in character.
Renee and Leo were spotted filming together on May 18 in hilarious scenes as Bridget got stuck up a tree in Hampstead Heath.
One onlooker said: โLeo and Renee looked like they were having a great time. There were lots of giggles, they seemed to get on really well.โ
Bridget Jones filming comes on the heels of sheer delight from fans after the announcement of the beloved characterโs return to the big screen.ย
Renee first appeared as Bridget in 2001โs Bridget Jonesโ Diary and returned in 2004โs Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and 2016โs Bridget Jonesโ Baby.
The movie was officially confirmed in May, with Renรฉe and Hugh Grantโs comebacks made official โ after his love rat character Daniel Cleaverโs death was falsified in 2016โs third installment.
The fourth movie in the franchise โ based on the books by Helen Fielding โ will be released by Universal film on US platform Peacock on Valentineโs Day 2025 while internationally, the flick will be released in cinemas.
Bridgetโs creator Helen Fielding has also been spotted at the filming as she prepares to say goodbye to the much-loved character.ย
It was revealed last month that Bridgetโs obsession with losing weight will be โplayed downโ in the film amid fears they might be a bad influence.
