The 64 year old broadcaster struck a pose with a subtle pout and a quizzical eyebrow raise while sitting in his car.

His caption read: “Beautiful hot day today ☀️ Enjoying the cool shade in the car 🚗 What are you up to?” However, fans were puzzled by Eamonn’s own comment: “Thank you for saying so, Ruth.”

It appears he may have mistakenly added a new comment instead of replying directly to a fan named Ruth, accompanied by some sad and thumbs up emojis.

Amidst the confusion, one smitten fan proposed in jest: “Can I marry you? ” prompting Eamonn to respond with a light-hearted: “Now that cheered me up Liz.”

The banter continued as another chimed in: “She’s going to have to wait in the queue.”

While a third declared: “Eyes off Liz. If Eamonn’s marrying anyone it’s me.”
