Eamonn Holmes had a few words to say to his GB News guest Christopher Biggings as they clashed over the Royalsโ decision to not visit New Zealand on their tour.
Eamonn Holmes had an expletive-filled reaction to Christopher Bigginsโ fury at the Royals leaving New Zealand out on their upcoming royal tour.
The 64-year-old presenter was on deck to present Mondayโs GB News along with his trusty co-host Isabel Webster.
The duo discussed Englandโs crushing loss to Spain in the Euros 2024 final.ย
They also weighed in on King Charles and Queen Camillaโs royal tour announcement, noting that they would not be visiting New Zealand despite stopping in Australia and Samoa.
Christopher was on hand to give his verdict on the decision, pointing out: โItโs bizarre. Itโs bizarre thinking. And I think if I was in New Zealand Iโd be very upset,โ referring to the fact the nation isnโt getting a royal visit.
Eammon clearly disagreed with Christopherโs point as he exclaimed: โWhy? Itโs in the aโ end of nowhere, how can you expect the sick man to go that distance?โ
Isabelโs jaw dropped wide open as she agreed with her co-host adding: โYes it is a long way.โ
Eamonn continued justifying his opinion: โItโs too far. Itโs absolutely ridiculous,โ as Christopher attempted to diffuse the situation admitting: โI agree. But if he is going, why go to โโ before being cut off by Eamonn.
โBecause itโs an extra four hours each way which is either ours which is a working day. Goodness me,โ Eamonn fumed.
Isabel jumped to Christopherโs defence by agreeing with his point, adding: โIf you can get as far as Australiaโโ but was then cut off by Eamonn.
โItโs like going to bloody Antarctica,โ Eamonn butted in as Isabel joked โsteady onโ in an attempt to calm her co-host down.
The Royal Tour news comes after it was announced the King was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
It was revealed that he underwent nine weeks of chemotherapy for testicular cancer in early 2023.
But now, seemingly on the mend, King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla will be jetting down under to visit Australia and Samoa later this year in October.
After the intense discussion over the Royal Tour announcement, Eamonn Holmes and Christopher Biggins seemed to have differing opinions on the matter. While Eamonn found the idea of the Royals visiting New Zealand absurd due to the long distance, Christopher expressed his disappointment on behalf of the nation.
As tensions rose, Eamonn made a bold statement about New Zealand, comparing it to being as remote as Antarctica. His outburst caught Isabel Webster by surprise, who tried to calm the situation with a light-hearted remark. Despite their disagreement, the trio continued to debate the Royal Tour plans.
The news of King Charles’ battle with testicular cancer added another layer of complexity to the discussion. Despite his health struggles, the King and Queen Camilla are set to embark on their tour to Australia and Samoa later this year. This decision raised questions about the priorities of the Royal family in light of the King’s recent health challenges.
Overall, the debate on the Royals’ travel itinerary highlighted the clash of opinions and perspectives on the importance of diplomatic visits. While some may view certain destinations as impractical, others see them as essential for maintaining international relations. The upcoming Royal Tour is sure to provoke further discussions and debates as the King and Queen prepare for their journey.
