Travis Kelce gave fans an insight into the moment Prince William joined Taylor Swift and Jon Bon Jovi on stage at a charity event in 2013.

The American football star, who is dating Taylor, sat down with his brother Jason for the London edition of their New Heights podcast. 

They discussed Taylor’s three-day run at Wembley Arena as part of her Eras Tour. 

The Kelce family were there all three nights to support the Love Story singer as she performed to 90,000 fans.

On the last day, Travis, 34, even joined Taylor, also 34, on stage for a skit 

as he dramatically swooped her up into his arms after she pretended to faint. 

He even had the opportunity to meet Prince William, who he branded the ‘coolest motherf***er’ after admitting he didn’t know whether to bow to the royal.

During their chat, Travis opened up about Taylor’s infamous karaoke session with the Prince. The trio performed Livin’ On A Prayer while William jokingly played the air guitar and high-fived everyone on stage. The charity event was held at the Winter Whites Gala evening at Kensington Palace.

“Bon Jovi called them up and said, yeah, Living on Prayer was a song that, I guess Prince William loves to sing karaoke, too,” Travis told his brother. “And so Bon Jovi called them up and was like, ‘Yo, why don’t you come on up here and sing this one with me?’ And I guess he was like, ‘I don’t know’.

“And Taylor was just like, ‘let’s do this. I’ll roll up there with you. You won’t be the only one’.” He went on to say that Taylor got Prince William ‘out of his shell’ and he ‘went up there and they ripped it and they said he had a blast.’

Praising Prince William, Travis added: “And I’m just like, I don’t know if any other Prince is doing that. You know what I mean? In terms of royalty, you like to kinda, I don’t know. It seems like they like to sit back and the show is the show, but he was cool enough to be a part of it. But that just shows you how, you know, personable he is.”

The royal talked about the event during a chat in 2021 and said he listened ‘like a puppy’ when Taylor told him to get on stage to perform with Jon Bon Jovi. He said: “To this day, I still do not know what came over me. Honestly, even now I’m cringing at what happened next, and I don’t understand why I gave in.

“But, frankly, if Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, touches your arm and says, ‘Come with me…’ I got up like a puppy and went, ‘Yeah, OK, that seems like a great idea. I’ll follow you’.”
