They added: โThey were as close to Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan as you could get,โ reportsย MailOnline. Meanwhile, a pal of the pair toldย The Sunย how the couple drifted apart in recent months as their work commitments โtook them in different directionsโ.
Recently, Ruth touched on the subject of her marriage in a TV appearance and revealed how she would hate her marriage to end. While appearing onย Loose Women, she confessed she would hate it if Eamonn were to leave her for a woman the same age as her and not someone younger.
So, as the star prepares to make a statement about the end of her marriage, hereโs a look at her Loose Women colleagues, who also decided to call it a day with their husbands.

After 33 years of marriage, the actress spoke toย OK! magazineย about the breakdown of their relationship, insistingย the split wasnโt triggered by anything dramatic. Linda shared: โPeople do, sometimes, donโt they? We never had that much in common. Iโm very sociable. Mark never enjoyed that side of things.โ
The mum-of-four continued to explain how their kids kept them together for some many years, with the actress quick to describe her ex as โan amazing dad. โIโve been sad about it, of course I have,โ she admitted. โBut we had two lovely children together. But theyโre all grown up, living their own lives now. Now, itโs me and Dolly the dog. [But] Iโm in a really good place. Workโs good.โ

Journalist Jane Moore said her husband was still her โbest friendโ as she announced their separation live on theย ITVย lunchtime show in 2022.
The panellist, 62, married her husband Gary Farrow in 2002 and the two are parents to daughters Ellie and Grace. Jane is also step-mother to Garyโs elder daughter Lauren.
Jane said the pair decided to split in 2021, but held off proceedings after Gary broke his leg. She added thatย they had decided to stay together for one last Christmas and would officially move on in the new year.ย Speaking on the ITV show, Jane revealed: โSo Gary and I are separating. But itโsย weirdย that itโs out there [in public] because weโve been processing it for about a year.
โWeโre both quite private people. We had discussed it last yearโฆ it was going to happen last year. And then he fell and broke his leg and, no, I didnโt push him,โ she joked.
Speaking about nursing her husband back to health, Jane concluded: โI have been sort of caring for him in that sense of the word. Itโs enabled us to sort of segue to process it first of all, and to sort of segue nicely into a really good friendship.โ

Writing in her Daily Mirror column, Coleen said: โI wanted to tell you first as I can hardly sit here and keep dishing out advice if Iโm not being totally straight about what is going on in my own life.
โThere is too much dividing me and Ray. We canโt go back.โ
She also spoke about the โhellishโ 12 months of relationship difficulties the couple endured.
โThe last 12 months have been pretty hellish. Iโve been honest on Loose Women for a while that Ray and I have been having problems and itโs all I thought about in theย Big Brotherย house.โ
Andrea McLean
Andrea, 54, who joined Loose Women in 2007,ย split with her second husband, builder Steve Tom, in 2012. In a heart-rending interview, the former GMTV weather girl revealed to theย Mirror: โSteve and I had grown apart and we both knew it. Weโd tried so many times to make it work, but it was hopeless.โ
She continued: โI had hoped weโd be together for ever, I insisted I wouldnโt make the mistakes I made in my first marriage and I wrote about how my heart would lift with love when I saw his name flash up on my phone. And I really meant it. I tried for a year to save our marriage. I tried so hardโฆโ
Sadly, for Andrea, the topic of marriages breaking down was up for debate on her Loose Women show, as she admitted she struggled through it. Opening up about hosting the show, she said: โOn my first Loose Women show of the New Year the topic was, โWhy do marriages break down atย Christmas.โ I just wanted to burst out crying, but somehow I got through.
โIโd kept my marriage problems to myself and only Sherrie Hewson saw through my brave face. But Iโve explained everything now and I know the ladies will all be there for me.โ
