Billy Ray Cyrus has scored the latest victory in his divorce from Firerose Cyrus.
A judge in a Los Angeles court ruled that the Achy Breaky Heart singerโs estranged wife, 36, can no longer use his American Express business card or any other credit card in his or his businessesโ names.
Billy Ray, 62, alleged that Firerose had charged $96,986.05 to his American Express account between May 23 and June 7 in 37 unauthorized charges, TMZ reported.ย
He says he never allowed his wife to use his credit cards or bank accounts, but she contends sheโs had permission since moving in with the I Want My Mullet Back singer in 2022.
Firerose claimed that she was maintaining an already-established lifestyle, one he put in place when they moved in together.
She also argued that she should be allowed to continue spending Billy Rayโs money for her expenses and attorneys fees as long as they remain married.
While the judge found in favor of Billy Ray in this case, their split is far from over.
A representative for Firerose reached out to DailyMail.com with the following statement: โThe judge thought the whole thing was ridiculous and asked why her use of the credit card was even brought to court.
โAdditionally, Billy spent the first part of this whole ordeal accusing her of fraud, which was found to be untrue. One of the many falsehoods heโs put out there that one can now point back to and clearly see were lies.โ
The Hannah Montana star, filed for an annulment seven months after they married, accusing her of fraud and โinappropriate marital conduct.โ
The Australian singer, who first met Billy Ray in 2010 on the set of the Disney channel series, has accused her estranged husband of emotional and verbal abuse and manipulation.ย
Firerose claimed in an interview with Page Six last month the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker, 62, constantly screamed at her and made her feel like a โprisonerโ in theirTennessee home during their marriage.
After he claimed she had โphysically, emotionally and verbally abused him,โ Fireose accused the singer of โisolatingโ her from her friends and family and said that he had attempted to control her by implementing a set of โrulesโ for her to follow.
โBilly had very strict rules,โ she elaborated. โI didnโt have a car. I was only allowed to go to the local chiropractor and allowed once a month to get my nails done.โ
Firerose โ whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges โ called it โsystemic isolationโ and added: โI couldnโt find the courage to leave.โ
She also claimed that her friends and family were banned from visiting her at home.
Cyrusโ estranged wife added: โIf I had to send a text, I had to read it out to him for permission. It was the same for email.โ
In court documents filed in Tennessee last month, Cyrus denied Fireoseโs โmindbogglingโ allegations of abuse, claiming that she had in fact abused him during the marriage โ and alleging that she was only ever after his money.
However, Firerose hit back, revealing that she had to have a preventative double mastectomy due to carrying the BRCA1 gene and Billy Ray left her the day before her scheduled surgery.ย
Billy Ray denied that and her attorneyโs issued a statement.
โThe audacity to question a BRCA-positive womenโs [sic] decision to undergo a preventative surgery further shows the kind of cruel manipulation Firerose was subjected to.ย
โWhat Billy Ray fails to recognize is when you have a decades-long history of emotional and psychological abuse, people start to take notice. The truth will come to light.โ
